Land at Weyburn Works, Elstead

Ecology Solutions, led by Simon Taber, undertook detailed ecological survey and assessment work to support an application for the redevelopment of a former industrial site for new residential development, care home and bespoke SANG in close proximity to Wealden Heaths SPA. A series of detailed reports was produced, including an ES Chapter, Information for Habitats Regulations Assessment and SANG Management Plan. Following negotiations with Natural England, consent was granted at Appeal for a care home within 400m of the SPA, without the application of commercially restrictive conditions. Representations were also made to overcome specific concerns raised by the Biodiversity Officer.
