Land at Congresbury, Locking, Claverham and Banwell, Somerset

Ecology Solutions was initially instructed to provide strategic advice in relation to four separate sites, all of which are located in close proximity to a Special Area of Conservation (SAC) designated for Horseshoe bats, following objections from Natural England and North Somerset Council’s Ecologist. In order to overcome an impasse with the Council's Ecologist, Simon Taber met with Natural England Officers to discuss and confirm an appropriate avoidance, mitigation and enhancement strategy to be applied for each site. Simon subsequently worked closely with the Council's Ecologist to assist with completion of their Habitats Regulations Assessment, leading to the removal of objections.
