Heatherwood Hospital, Ascot

Working with Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, Peter Hadfield led the ecological assessment of the relocation of Heatherwood Hospital to a new site, the redevelopment of the existing site for a residential scheme, and the establishment of a Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspace (SANG) in the adjacent woodland.  Consulting extensively with the Local Planning Authority Ecologist and Natural England, particular issues addressed included effects on Badgers, bats and woodland, as well as the Thames Basin Heaths Special Protection Area (SPA).  Having achieved planning consent, Ecology Solutions has been retained by the Trust and its appointed contractor to advise on the construction phase.
