Ecology Solutions was instructed to provide ecological support to inform a major strategic residential development site. Simon Taber provided key assistance to the Expert Witness at the Planning Inquiry, including the preparation of the Proof of Evidence and Rebuttal Evidence, completing a detailed review of Council's Evidence. Simon subsequently led negotiations with Natural Resources Wales (NRW) and the Council's Ecologist to agree a comprehensive mitigation strategy for Dormice, including the design and detail of habitat corridors, crossing points and buffer zones to development. A comprehensive Ecological Management Strategy was produced for the site, covering Dormice as well as bats, Badgers, reptiles and non-statutory designated sites. Further work included ongoing negotiations with NRW, leading to Reserved Matters approval and discharge of conditions.
