Tim Goodwin was the special guest on the latest episode of Have We Got Planning News For You.
Presented by Mary Cook, Paul Tucker QC, Christopher Young QC, Charles Banner QC and Sasha White QC, HWGPNFY has become a highlight of the lockdown and beyond. Each week, the panel provide an update on events in planning, discussing the latest cases, law, policy and appeals, and each week they are joined by a special guest.
This week the theme was ecology, and as the UK’s leading expert witness on ecological issues, Tim joined the team in a wide ranging discussion, touching on the Environment Bill and Biodiversity Net Gain, his experience and thoughts on Natural England, and the future of wildlife legislation and policy as the UK leaves the European Union. With a Government review of planning on the horizon, Tim called for a presumption in favour of development where there are clear benefits for biodiversity, and for greater weight on this in decisions.
