Ecology Solutions has particular experience in the presentation of expert evidence at Planning Inquiries.  Expert evidence is regularly given with respect to environmental issues at planning appeals, call-in inquiries, local plan inquiries, structure plan inquiries, structure plan EIPs and compulsory purchase order and highways inquiries.

Evidence has been presented on diverse issues relating to National Parks, Special Protection Areas, Special Areas of Conservation, Sites of Special Scientific Interest, County Wildlife Sites and other more specific topics such as the impact of development on Badgers, bats, birds and other species.

The Directors of the practice have recently presented evidence in relation to:

• A major test case in the High Court on behalf of Railtrack with Tim Dutton QC;

• The redevelopment of Fulham Football Club with Duncan Ouseley QC;

• Whitley Business Park in Coventry for Jaguar Cars with Brian Ash QC;

• An ES and compulsory Purchase order inquiry for Tesco Stores with Lionel Read QC;

• Evidence at the request of Keith Lindblom QC in support of the Alconbury Airfield redevelopment proposals;

• An application for a multi-modal freight distribution development of approximately 700,000m²

• An “Appropriate Assessment” under the Conservation Regs for Thorn and Hatfield Moors Special Protection Area with Neil King QC.
